Kim Kardashian West has remained mum about her husband Kanye West’s presidential run, aside from retweeting his announcement tweet.
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for president of the United States,” the rapper tweeted on July 5th. As expected, the tweet received thousands of replies, but the most notable one came from SpaceX CEO Elon Musk who confirmed his full support for the rapper in the comments section.

Although Kim retweeted her husband’s tweet adding an American flag emoji at the time, the KKW Beauty founder has barely acknowledged West’s presidential run. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has refrained from sharing his campaign video or promoting the campaign merchandise.

Her sister Kourtney shared the video, and even promoted West’s merch on Instagram, and ended up coming under fire from the netizens. She isn’t supporting another candidate over her husband but is urging her fans and followers to vote, through her social media pages without mentioning any specific name.
Kylie had shared a post endorsing Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden but deleted it after receiving backlash. Considering that Kim has always supported Kanye in all his ventures including his clothing line, and even his Sunday Service, her decision to remain tight-lipped on the presidential campaign speaks volumes.
Kim didn’t make an appearance at West’s first, and an only campaign rally in July. The rapper divulged some very personal details about his marriage during his speech at the campaign. He went as far as claiming that he and Kim initially considered getting an abortion when she was pregnant with their first daughter, North West.
Kim was understandably enraged at this behavior, and at West using their kids to push his campaign. The socialite was photographed crying as she confronted her husband after the rally. Earlier reports suggested that Kim begged West to not run for President for the sake of his mental health.
Following a series of tweets from West, including one that accused Kim of trying to have him committed, sources revealed that KimYe was working on their marriage while living apart. Another source told PEOPLE that while Kim never approved of her husband’s political ambitions, “she is kind of standing back while Kanye does whatever makes him happy.”
No one believes Kanye stands a chance at winning, and are even angry at him for carrying on with this controversy-plagued campaign, as it could take some votes away from Biden. It is not impossible to imagine that fashion mogul is one of them. She has been increasing political and interested in social justice in recent years.
On top of that, she has been a major supporter of prison reform but has face criticism for working with President Donald Trump on this issue. While Kim hasn’t publicly approved or disapproved of Kanye’s presidential run, the longtime couple continue to interact publicly on other matters, such as Kanye wishing her a happy birthday on Twitter.
