Kourtney Kardashian is receiving some backlash for publicly backing brother-in-law Kanye West’s controversy plagued presidential campaign by sporting a “Vote Kanye” ball cap.
The 41-year-old Poosh founder posted the image earlier this week in unison with a blog on her website, “Where to Buy the BEST VOTER MERCH.” The blog post included two of the rapper’s fashion pieces that carry price tags of $40.
Some netizens didn’t appreciate Kourtney’s attempt to influence her social media followers, urging them to vote for the “Jesus Walks” emcee, who shocked the world by announcing his presidential run on July 4. His name appears in ballots in 12 states for the impending Nov. 3 presidential election.
“This is so embarrassing @kourtneykardash,” YouTuber Tyler Oakley wrote alongside a screenshot of Kourtney’s Instagram Story. “Support progressive Democrats down the ballot, especially in swing states!!” Several netizens slammed the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star for acting “irresponsible” in her promotion of West given the large platform.
I had to check for myself 🤨 I don’t care if this is a mistake or a joke. Your platform is too big for you to do anything irresponsible like this. Fix it @kourtneykardash and do NOT write in or vote for @kanyewest that is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard 🤦🏻♂️ 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/YxMhAognwA

“Omg, that is absolutely atrocious. I’m appalled. Even if it is a joke she has MILLIONSSS of followers,” lifestyle and beauty YouTube star Nicol Concilio tweeted. Kim Kardashian faced similar criticism when she retweeted West’s post about running for president.
West released his first campaign ad earlier this week, and Kourtney retweeted it, claiming her brother-in-law was running a race on “our nation’s commitment to faith.” “We are not only a beacon to the world but we should be servants to each other,” West said.
Kourtney was the only member of the Kardashian-Jenner family member who publicly supported the campaign ad. In the states where his name does not appear on the voter ballot, West asked his fans to write his name in.
West denounced President Donald Trump after years of being a supporter. The rapper’s campaign trail affected his marriage negatively when he revealed some very personal information during his first campaign rally. Stay tuned in here for the latest celebrity news.
