Jenny and Sumit: The unprecedented coronavirus pandemic had a huge impact worldwide, with businesses being forced to shut down, people losing their jobs, and millions of people around the world succumbing to the deadly pathogen.
90 Day Fiance‘s Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh’s relationship has been affected by the still raging pandemic, with Jenny trying to figure out how the crisis could affect her chances of staying in India. The pair were looking forward to starting a new chapter in their life after Sumit’s divorce from his wife.
Sumit’s faced a lot of difficulties in a bid to get a divorce from his wife to be able to tie the knot with Jenny. The whole process took several months, and Sumit ended up shelling out a lot of money. In the previous episode, Sumit said he and Jenny would get married once he gets the divorce, and he promised Jenny that they will host a ring ceremony, letting everyone know that they are officially together.
Much to their chagrin, the coronavirus pandemic led to global lockdowns, and the government implemented several restrictions even before they could move ahead with their plan. Jenny and Sumit both admitted that they were shocked, especially since Sumit is a diabetic and Jenny is more vulnerable to COVID-19 because of her age.
On top of that, Jenny was worried about staying in India. While she had planned to marry Sumit once she was in India, the unprecedented pandemic dashed her hopes. Jenny reveals she had only a few more days in India because her visa was on the verge of expiring.
If she wants to continue living in India, Jenny would need to marry Sumit, considering that it is still unsure how long the COVID-19 vaccine might take, and how long traveling to another country might be banned. This isn’t the only problem the couple needs to worry about.
Sumit is still unable to convince his parents to accept Jenny as their daughter in law. He has already made it clear that he would not choose between his parents and Jenny and is bent on having everyone in one family. Sumit’s parents, however, aren’t willing to accept Jenny, and his father asked him to think twice before tying the knot with someone twice his age.
Do you think Sumit will change his mind, or leave his parents to be with Jenny? Let us know in the comments section below. Stay tuned in here for the latest 90 Day Fiance news. 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way airs on Sundays at 8 pm ET on TLC.
